According to Katie Melua, there are nine million bicycles in Beijing. I am not sure how many are in Taipei, but I would guess there are also quite a few. And while we published a piece earlier in the week referring to Taipei as Scooter City, it could just as easily be called bicycle city.
Getting around on two wheels is quick and convenient. Some of the main roads here have designated bike lanes, and Taiwan has an amazing bike sharing system. So as you have probably guessed by now, biking is the topic of this low-intermediate piece, and it was written by our contributor, Franscica LO.

相信很多人都騎過腳踏車。有時候想去一些地方，走路可能太遠，但是搭車又很麻煩，這時候騎腳踏車是你的好選擇。你也可能想要在假日的時候出去玩、或是去運動，這時候騎腳踏車也是很好的活動。騎腳踏車甚至也是一些人的職業！這些職業運動員會參加騎腳踏車的比賽。
騎腳踏車很方便，有很多優點，也是我最喜歡的交通工具。去很多地方，我都會騎著我的腳踏車。有空的時候我會在校園裡騎腳踏車運動，也會騎著腳踏車去吃飯、運動和上課。
有一天，我騎腳踏車的時候，突然下了大雨。我才發現騎腳踏車也有缺點：下雨的時候，騎腳踏車沒辦法用雨傘。
但是，沒下雨的時候，腳踏車仍然是很好的交通工具！如果你沒有騎過腳踏車，一定要找機會嘗試！
